Tiny tigers rescue volunteers
Becky Crowell Cummings
Secretary
Becky has always loved animals, especially cats since she was a child! Her family always had them growing up. But her passion for them truly began when she was 10 and her neighbor’s cat had kittens. Becky visited every day and one of them decided he was Becky’s. “Fluffy” followed her home. He was a solid white “Fluffy” Ragdoll mix that lived to be 15.
Becky became a volunteer 19 years ago doing TNR with Forgotten Felines of Forsyth. Since then Becky has trapped hundreds of kitties, many of them not feral and worked to find them homes. Becky met Lydia Hall through a mutual friend and began fostering for TTR.
Becky presently assists TTR with monitoring messages, posting on FB and managing the TNR (trap-neuter-return) program for TTR.
Becky has 4 kitties of her own, a dog and 8 “cat house kitties” that include Tiny Tigers, Teagen and Boyd.
She has 2 grown children, a son and daughter, and 4 grandchildren, 2 girls and 2 boys, ranging in ages from 3-19.
Amber Golding
Director
Amber Golding has been involved with Tiny Tigers Rescue for almost six years. She has seven indoor cats and has adopted five Tiny Tigers. She also has two rescue dogs, a 20-year-old turtle named Myrtle, a nineteen-year-old son and a feral colony of four cats on her property. She has worked in the operating room of Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy, North Carolina for over ten years. She loves true crime podcasts, riding her bike and spray painting anything she can get her hands on. Amber says that she is “now and forever a crazy cat lady!”
Katie Jones
Vice President
Katie Jones has always been a cat lover. She is a foster that specializes in bottle babies, special needs kittens, and kittens that need socializing. Katie drives kittens or cats to meet rescue transports and delivers cats to pet adoption events. Katie fundraises for Tiny Tiger Rescue, including organizing and administering online auctions, selling t-shirts and decals. Katie also humanely traps cats in need of medical and other care for the rescue.
Kim Kirkman
Ex Officio Board Member
Kim Kirkman has loved animals all of her life, but has always had a special place in her heart for cats. She is blessed to have a husband who shares her passion for rescue. Kim is an elementary teacher who entertains her students with stories about the antics of her cats. She also founded a Junior Humane Society group in her school. As an educator, Kim is dedicated to helping the group achieve their core mission of educating the community about animal care and welfare.
Susan Messick
Ex Officio Board Member
Susan Messick and her husband moved to Mount Airy eight years ago because of the opportunities it offered for an active retirement. They lived in several North Carolina cities previously, most recently in the Wilmington area. Susan has been a cat lover all her life and started volunteering with Tiny Tigers in 2019.
Vicki Nester
Ex Officio Board Member
Vicki Nester has been with Tiny Tiger’s Rescue for a year. She loves helping with adoption events, fundraisers and the spay/neuter clinic. She really enjoys meeting people and saving the kitties. She has five cats and three dogs of her own, all rescues. Vicki is happy to be a part of Tiny Tiger’s Rescue (TTR). She wants to make a difference, and TTR does that everyday.
